The Kansas City Public Library is looking to hire its first ever Health & Wellness Librarian. While working with staff across the 10 Kansas City Public Library location, this position will determine the health and wellness needs of our community while functioning as the Library’s expert in health and wellness resources and initiatives. This position will be responsible community engagement, programming, and securing funding for identified community needs. The successful candidate will report to the Community Reference Manager.

Kansas City Public Library is looking for an engaging, customer focused person to bring enthusiasm for service to all ages at its Trails West and Sugar Creek branches. This position serves as a primary contact point for customers using the Library, ensuring a positive customer experience by determining customer needs, analyzing and solving problems, and directing customers to appropriate resources.

Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Support Specialist, the ITS Support Specialist and is responsible for providing support to the Library by performing a variety of technical tasks in the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of computers and other related Information Systems equipment.

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the branch including supervising staff, and providing information and reader’s advisory services through direct service to patrons.

The Kansas City Public Library seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to perform general maintenance of physical plants, equipment, and grounds at its ten locations. Duties include the repair and installation of electrical equipment, plumbing building equipment, and HVAC. Duties also include painting, locksmith responsibilities, carpentry and other interior and exterior maintenance. Minimum qualifications include High school diploma or GED, substantial maintenance experience including electrical, plumbing and carpentry, and the ability to read blueprints and instructional guides.

Kansas City Public Library is seeking an energetic and creative Youth Services Librarian. Reporting to the Director of Youth & Family Engagement, this librarian will have a home base at the North-East Branch.
